Laura & Andrew’s wedding at The Barn at Willerby was the perfect mix of relaxed moments, plenty of laughter and one incredible celebration from start to finish.

The morning began with both of them getting ready on site. Laura and her girls were over in The Hideaways with Jodie Louise and Ellie Burdall taking care of the hair and makeup, while Andrew and his groomsmen got ready in The Granary.

After two beautiful dress reveals, Laura made her way across to the ceremony space, which had been styled by The Barn at Willerby and Oh Pretty Rae, where Andrew was waiting to see his girls — and his soon-to-be wife — walk down the aisle.

After an emotional ceremony, everyone headed out onto the patio where Baba Ganouah served the canapés and Joey Collins provided the live music while we worked our way through the family photographs.

The speeches brought plenty of laughter and a few tears before I took Laura and Andrew away for some relaxed portraits around the venue. Five years together and these two clearly still know exactly how to make each other laugh.

As the evening arrived, Matty Whitaker set the tone for the first dance before the party properly got underway.

The Barn at Willerby is brilliant for couples who want everything in one place, with beautiful preparation spaces, a relaxed ceremony setting and plenty of opportunities for natural wedding photographs throughout the day.

The Barn at Willerby is one of those venues where the whole wedding day just flows. You can get ready, have your ceremony and celebrate into the evening all in one place, which means less travelling around and more time actually enjoying your wedding with everyone you love.

I particularly love the separate preparation spaces. The Hideaways are perfect for the bride and her girls getting ready together, while The Granary gives the groom and his groomsmen their own space. It means I can easily move between both and capture both sides of the morning as everything starts to come together.

From a photography point of view, there's loads to work with throughout the day. The outdoor spaces are brilliant for confetti and family photographs, while the surrounding countryside gives us plenty of opportunities for relaxed couple portraits without having to disappear for ages.

Most importantly, it has a really relaxed atmosphere. From drinks and canapés on the patio to live music, speeches, sunset portraits and a packed dance floor later in the evening, The Barn at Willerby works brilliantly for couples who want a beautiful wedding without their day ever feeling overly formal or forced.

There are plenty of opportunities for photographs without having to leave the venue. The outdoor spaces and surrounding countryside are brilliant for confetti, family photographs and relaxed couple portraits while keeping you close to your guests.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

Rain doesn't mean your photographs are ruined. I'll work around the weather throughout the day, making the most of the indoor spaces and any breaks outside. Even on a wet Yorkshire wedding day, we'll still create a complete set of natural photographs without your day becoming a photoshoot.

Do you photograph full weddings at The Barn at Willerby?

Absolutely. Full-day coverage works brilliantly here because everything happens in one place. I can photograph the morning preparations, ceremony, confetti, family photographs, couple portraits, speeches, first dance and the madness on the dance floor later in the evening.
